Untitled (Renault Trafic Gear Box), Untitled (VW Passat Gear Box), 1965 Citroen 2CV Gear Box or 1989 Renault Master Gear Box are all part of a set of unique sculptures Eric van Hove created at Fenduq out of used car parts found in the car repair souks (marketplaces) of Marrakesh. Until recently, every old car that no longer met European safety standards would end up in Africa. Although, in Morocco, this process has been halted by legislation, there are still spare parts needed for constant repairs, a demand that fuels a thriving import of cars, disassembled into components. In general, local craftsmen are often asked to help prolong the life of broken consumer goods from Europe.
